So, I was continuing, business as usual, when a werecamel showed up. It ran straight into our pasture, scaring away the expedition leader and all our livestock. It tore into a helpless sheep, but then screams were heard further down the hill. "Help me!" the leader cried.
I went to see, and indeed, he had drawn the attention of the zombies.
And then I turned, and already they were running into the fort! They made very quick work of our two combatdorfs.
It won't be long now, I hope.
You can see where the commander, marksdorf, and commander's baby were all slaughtered like so many lambs. - Tharis

Should add that I honestly can't remember whether or not there's an aquifer. Guess we'll find out eventually, though really there's enough real estate above ground that it may be a while before I explore that far.

I don't see an aquifer but as a time sink. It's so easy to go through once you've done it once properly. And with magma. I even like it that way. I hate sand hollows.

I think I'd rather have an aquifer for a water source. My vague recollection is there's one that covers part of the map, but I was going through a lot of maps before I picked this one.

A Werecamel?
Submitted by: Tharis - 2014-08-15 to 140 Mid Summer
The werecamel hit first, scared the expedition leader into the zombie camp, which roused the zombies into a swift invasion.
The zombies had been loitering on the edge of the map for the better part of a year, along with a human squad.
There, just added a POI to show where he died.
The zombies were the killers. The werecamel just drove our expedition leader into them.
