Here I wasn't trying to stick to some design idea, so the fortress layout is a bit messy and chaotic.
Nine (in-game) years since last upload. In that time I've breached caverns, cleared curious structure of undead (haven't removed candy scimitar yet) and started to make new mega-project, which is obsidian-cast pyramid.

Wow! looking very nice. The boat trench needn't even be flooded it looks nice nevertheless. I was hoping to see some down leveled royal housing but seems like I'll have to do it myself. You even have gold floor in the dwarvarium?

Yup, it's gold.

The wall is very dwarfy and I know how hard it can get with badass fortification projects if you elevate wealth too fast in a fortress.

That's not really a problem. I have 12 legendary melee warriors and 6 marksdwarves who killed a dozen of goblin ambushes and 2 sieges without a single scratch. I have only lost 1 marksdwarf to a siege (he tried to bash a goblin lasher with his wooden crossbow).

Chaos aside, this is a fantastic looking fortress. I love the "office" in the moat.

The bridge is great. I like the aquarium moat.

Looking good. I also appreciate the moat.
