This wouldn't be dwarf fortress without ghostly miners and drowned mechanics! This might be out of the normal order of things, but I have breached the first cavern, created a moat out of wood, made my first bedroom, and just about have the aquifer-waterfall with pump drain completed. I still need to make a kitchen.
I have more migrants than I know what to do with, and keeping them busy has made my fortress have an exponential growth this year.
Yes, that pile of goods means I just robbed the homeland by deconstructing. Hopefully I will be forgiven, but honestly it is rough out in this wasteland. - ClsfdKidd

I like to punch through virgin warm weather aquifers. The defences are more convincing now.
