Swordsmokes - 129 Early Spring by Salmeuk

Map Description:

Year 3. 105 Dwarfs (down from a mid-year high of 140), assorted animals and a metric fuckton of depression. Two sieges hit, and while the smart thing to do would be to close up the gates and sit them out, I didn't have that option. A minor and *ahem* unforeseeable design flaw gave the goblins a straight shot into the heart of my industry. I had to fight, and this resulting tantrum spiral is the result.

Now, I'm hastily burying all the corpses and hoping to simply wait out the tantrums.

Point of Interest: Design Flaw

The sloped hillside provided obvious pathways to this overlook. Had I waited for the crossgoblins to reach this point, they would have certainly shot my workers below. I have since flattened the slopes in question, and with the removal of some key portions of cliff this area stands unreachable. - Salmeuk

If you survived your tantrum spiral maybe you could take the risk of breaching to cavern layers? You could get some nice soft fungus beds.

Not bad. I like the blue X in the smelter room. I do wonder what this "unforeseeable" security breach was.

I updated the default POI to the location of the issue, which wasn't quite a breach. In a convoluted way it was closer to blackmail.

Wow, i like the magma metalsmithing. The lava channel is real nice. Also it's nice to see how you stock refuse outside the fortress side.n Other things worth mentioning is the food production line and the central lobby, that makes the fortress breathe.
