How did you get that magma there?

ajr_; according to his "The depths" location, he filled a minecart with magma from the sea and carted it up there.

On the left is a set of repeating steel spikes, hooked up to a lever in the dining hall. On the right is the necromancer-bait trap. Elsewhere on the level is farming/food industry and an unsuccessful Giant White Stork breeding program. - Urist Da Vinci

On the left are the pathing-efficient bedrooms for the 34 dwarves. Central is the hospital with a water system for terminal illnesses. On the right is the natural waterfall mist room, and the diplomat entrance. - Urist Da Vinci

On the left are the workshops, including magma workshops operating off single tiles of magma. Central is the dining hall with control levers. The dwarves here enjoy solid gold tables with a central artifact table. On the right is the trade depot. - Urist Da Vinci

An unsuccessful attempt to kill dozens of pigs with repeating spikes to induce "doesn't care anymore" into my population. - Urist Da Vinci

The dead are interred in coffins in the old gold veins. Deep below (~100 z-levels) is the magma sea where a machine fills iron minecarts with magma, for use in creating workshops. - Urist Da Vinci
