Lots of new things:
1) Dwarven housing is mined out. Similar to Murderedsalves I used the pattern "Windmill Villas" that I copied from the DF Wiki. This time I added lobbies for a bit of visual flair.
2) The downside to digging so much so early is that you get a LOT of immigration. My population has exploded; I'm at about 120 dwarves. Immigrant waves have averaged about 20 each. Food is still in short supply.
3) Every other map that I've played detailers have been quick. For some reason, my stone detailers on this map are slow and stupid.
4) Food storage / Drink storage / Food preparation / Dining Hall is up
5) I'm up to 6 nobles
6) I've done far better on this map (compare to Murderedsalves) on staying ahead of the game on hauling. There are no significant hauling backlogs.
7) Damn the bug where your entryway gets mud/dirt tiles. The only way I know once this happens to get a properly connected trade road is to use granite.exe. I'll have to use this shortly once road to the west is complete.

You can download the compressed map file:
Late Autumn, 1056, Year 4.fdf-map
but you will need the .NET version of
SL's DF Map Compressor
to convert to the .PNG image format.

There's a utility on the wiki called "mud", it removes mud from a square, turning it back into a rock square. Very useful. (it also turns whitestone/darkstone squares into grey stone squares, so be careful)

Yes, I am familiar with mud.exe.
I should clarify - I will clear the tiles using both "mud" and "granite"
My road is going slowly though, so I haven't got around to it yet.

Your fortress is really nice. Looks like a real city or something :)

This is clearly shaping up to be a great Dwarven metropolis. Heck, it already is! :)

That looks like the "Windmill Farms" bedroom design. Very pretty.
