Tamedearth (1x1 Tileset Sample) - 51 Early Spring by Itnetlolor

Map Description:

As the title should already reveal, this is a sample of a region rendered with my custom 1x1 tileset.

What point is there to this? Well, if you intend to make elaborate constructions or fortresses, or even illustrate something in the most abstract/simplified way possible, then this should be more that suitable to do so with.

I apologize in advance if the DFMA gets flooded by these kinds of map uploads upon release of the tileset. I intend it to be a tool to assist anyone that wants to plan/coordinate building plans between DF and a program that supports layers and aliased (sharp edged) coloring for making pixel work.

This map did not use Reveal. I might back it up with a reveal version later on.

If you want to use this tileset, here you go:

1x1 tileset (creatures and waterfalls and such are greyed out/darker units)
1x1 tileset (creatures and waterfalls and such are greyed out/darker units)

This tiny 16x16 image is the tileset. I suggest to use it properly, you set either Fullscreen mode or Windowed Mode to use it, and a proper tileset in the other (switch between with F11). This tileset is also optimized for ASCII tilesets, so switch to that first, and then use this set for greatest ease and no errors.

For reference, here's my actual map of TamedEarth:

Some of it should look like the sample image here:
Image Modified in Paint.Net. All layers of Sky are removed and a brighter shade is layered between, and added transparency. Top-most plan is visible, but bridge should line up perfectly

Point of Interest: S-Starting Wagon

( 51 Early Spring → onwards )

You can barely make it out, but that's the same exact spot my starting wagon was placed.

As you can already tell, the game is virtually unplayable like this; but like I mentioned before, this is a tool to make a 1x1 pixel-by-pixel extraction of a map for Paint.NET or similar program planning for forts and megaprojects.

Still, not bad, if I say so myself. Did exactly what I wanted it to, and now planning has gotten that much easier and useful.

In case you're wondering, all black dots are the trees themselves, and the green dots above are the tops of them. The volcano works just the same way. The pipeline is darker than the top, and the top isn't the top, but rather the +1Z view.

Just to minimize confusion. - Itnetlolor

For some apparent reason, I forgot level 38 (actual wagon/dwarf level). Nonetheless, this is still a good sample.

Do you only see a blank space?

You can download the compressed map file: 2013-04/itnetlolor-Tamedearth-51-0.fdf-map but you will need the .NET version of SL's DF Map Compressor to convert to the .PNG image format.
