• 52. Upper Mines

  ( 105 Early Spring to 107 Early Spring )
  The mines which exploited the mineral veins in the upper levels of the volcano. Minecart tracks for swift ore delivery to the foundry. Abandoned once the veins had been played out. - orius

• 48. Megaproject base

  ( 101 Early Spring to 108 Early Spring )
  Base of the elephant's legs is here. There is a cinnabar road heading underneath the elephant out of the fort to a cinnabar bridge over a defensive pit in front of the project. The rest of the grounds have gneiss and obsidian blocks arranged in a checkerboard pattern surrounded by an outer wall of rhyolite blocks. Storage yards here for blocks, soap and wood. - orius

• 47. Entrance

  ( 101 Early Spring to 108 Early Spring )
  Main entrance and trade depot. The entrance hall is paved over with a road of cinnabar blocks and the original dirt ramps were replaced with cinnabar block ramps. This is to match the cinnabar road on the surface. War dog pastured at the entrance for security purposes (though invasions have been disabled while I construct the megaproject). The fort hospital is just to the north of the main entrance. - orius

• 47. Farms

  ( 101 Early Spring to 108 Early Spring )
  The fort's farms with underground crops to the left and surface crops to the right. Also included the fort's sheep pens, and animal training is to the southwest. - orius

• 46. Soap industry

  ( 101 Early Spring to 108 Early Spring )
  The all-important soap industry which cranks out the soap to construct the mighty beast. - orius

• 45. Kitchens

  ( 105 Early Spring to 108 Early Spring )
  The kitchens that process food and feed the fort. Two kitchens for meal preparation, a stockpile for meat, cheese and meals, another stockpile for ingredients like eggs, flour and syrup, and the main dining hall. Lever bank on the south side of the dining hall. Secure refuse dumping with atom smasher to the southeast. - orius

• 43. Foundry

  ( 105 Early Spring to 108 Early Spring )
  The furnaces and forges which are at the heart of the fortress' industry. - orius

• 37. First cavern

  ( 101 Early Spring to 108 Early Spring )
  Main floor of cavern layer 1. A tribe of cave fish men live here along a wide body of water which forms something of an underground river of sorts. Since there are no mineral veins worth exploiting here, the cavern will remain sealed up. - orius

• 29. Second cavern

  ( 101 Early Spring to 108 Early Spring )
  The second cavern is interlaced with veins of copper and gold ore which will be mined out. Defenses have been built up at the entry to repel invaders. - orius

• 21. Third carven

  ( 101 Early Spring to 108 Early Spring )
  Mineral wealth abounds in the final cavern. More copper and gold, and also hematite and a spire of adamantine. Naturally, all this wealth is surrounded by a vast underground lake. Cave-ins were eventually engineered to safely exploit the underwater veins. - orius
