I dug out the remainder of the second dining room, and the second storage area. I am considering moving brewing and cooking facilities closer to my crops on the northern and southern ends. I plan to create green glass portals through which the dwarfs will gaze out into the channels.
Bedrooms are finally dug out, just have to clear some rocks and build tons of doors and beds. I'm going to try making the hallway walls to be smoothed and keep the insides of their quarters rough, but I know I'll eventually dislike that and end up having to make the nobles rooms uber-expensive so they don't bitch up a storm.
Also, the two areas in between the forks on the eastern side of the river will most likely be more control rooms for the doors and bridges (so I can lock them or retract them.) I still haven't figured out where to put the switch for the main bridge, but most likely I'll end up carving out a small area in the Ring and have a single switch there.
Just have to remove the ore from that wall so I can fill it in. The thing is, I have more ore than I know what to do with. I guess I'll have to mine deeper to get to the magma. :(
I have considered making some tree farms so I can have a more consistent source of indoor wood. Debating if this will be controlled using channels or just through nile farming. I don't want to worry about cave crocs and frogmen, so it will most likely be using more channels.
Well, to avoid any more injuries to my dwarfs for not creating cut sapphires when I don't have any, I have made the jail where they will hopefully be kept instead. Included is my Captain of the Guard's future quarters and an office in the center of the room.
