  This is the intended effect of all those z lvls of empty space. I'm going to continue this motif into the construction of the cathedral. This only shows the foundation arches and the sewer tunnels at the bottom there. - Unbeltedsundew

• Δ 111. The military complex

  ( 277 Early Autumn to 278 )
  Composed of four towers that will be able to be separated from the rest by iron block bridges. Each tower will be fully independent and can house a ten man squad, with offices, training rooms, supply etc. Each tower has/will have a sally port which you can see on this level. Also of iron blocks. - Unbeltedsundew

• Δ 110. Intake for hospital and military cisterns
  I'm doing a little experiment at the top there to see if replacing the floors makes it a water source but I may not continue with it. The pipe is walled and floored with copper and roofed with clear glass blocks. - Unbeltedsundew
• Δ 110. Memorial beach
  I had a huge ghost problem for a long time while the tombsa were being built and filled with coffins. These slabs kinda helped, but it is very very difficult to try and find the right engraving for a specific dwarf at this point.
  
  You may notice the dwarf corpse in the water behind the pump down there. His name isnt on the list and hes haunting the fort, hence the reason for the pump. I'm going to attempt to retrieve him and bury him, and get rid of his ghost. Thankfully he is a fairly passive dwarf ghost and isnt killing people or battering them or screaming through the halls in rage. - Unbeltedsundew
• Δ 109. Aquifer
  Currently at work destroying the aquifer after going to all that trouble to put a copper pipe through it. Turns out I need it gone for my farm construction. There are two levels of aquifer. They are both really annoying.
  
  It has helped my learn something though. From now on Im going to build my work camps only on the surface, if I could've collapsed to clear this aquifer it would've been easier. The north end of this level is being done that way.
  
  I've also learned to never embark in a salt water biome again it's just pointlessly annoying. Better a freshwater lake. If the river had water or the aquifer gave fresh water it might not be so bad. Or if the water didn't revert so easily. - Unbeltedsundew
• Δ 105. Begining of the farm dig
  I didnt realize aquifers filled the tile below them. Its going to make this project significantly difficult. I'm still working out how Im going to tackle it. And I suspect that the solution will be fairly wet and dirty. Having drainage and just keep on mineing it out like this is my guess. I need the aquifer dirt for my outside farms so I cant destroy it. - Unbeltedsundew
• Δ 98. Hospital
  First floor of my hospital. There are wells for each patient room made from brass buckets and chains and orthoclase blocks and mechanisms. The operating tables in each room are silver. The Traction benches are brass. Buckets are to be stored at either end of the halls.
  
  Currently this space is not designated as hospital yet though because of my water problems. - Unbeltedsundew
• Δ 97. Future site of the baths
  The walls around and doors are of nickle, I didnt engrave because I've considered being able to clean the baths with magma. Lots of work to go into here yet.
  
  The central platform lets in some green light to hopefully help prevent cave adaptation in the future. - Unbeltedsundew
• Δ 96. Hospital cistern
  This is the hospital cistern that is causing me problems. I accidentally left two walls smoothed when I first filled it, and even after fixing them to constructs and drying out the whole system and refilling it, it was still salt. But I'm told that wells will work even if they don't read as a water source so I may just choose to live with it. - Unbeltedsundew
• Δ 66. Top level of the sewers
  The idea was for this level to contain sweet water, but that's already been compromised. Which really annoys my. The walls here are actually constructed, it just got hidden when I retook the fort.
  
  This level is largely unfinished mostly cause there is still around 45,000 stones sitting on that floor.
  
  The catwalks on the level above are made with blocks. I'm not a block purist though, I like to have both in my forts. I live in a city with lots of stone work and seeing dressed stone all the time is boring without some undressed stone to spice things up a little. ;)
  
  That said people who build using blocks exclusively I take may hat off to you, even if you are slightly mad. It is very impressive. - Unbeltedsundew
• Δ 58. The tombs
  Located conveniently in the sewers. I have 373 built coffins, about 350 -360 of them are filled with dead dwarf. I'm planning for expansions and some mausoleums.
  
  This fort is only 27 years old. I died to a huge tantrum spiral in 264 or so after living in a very very violent fortress. I had to send a few reclaims after it because there was a hydra forgotten beast that escaped the cage when I died, and FB Frog thing too. I crippled the hydra on the 3rd attempt using 41 war dogs (most of which died doing so) and was able to take the fortress on the 4th or 5th (there was some goblins running around too).
  
  Oh yeah, the center of the walkways on the two main roads here are paved with gold bars, the secondary streets are being paved with silver. The edges are being done in gabbro blocks, which the statues are then placed on. - Unbeltedsundew
