The Trade Depots

After the dwarves finished practicing Chinese philosophy they built a yin-yang trade depot, two infact one made of Moonstone and Marble, the other from Jet and Onyx.

This special room is partioned from the main fortress by drawbridges that act as large doors. These can be raised at once, or independantly to prevent raiding creatures from entering the fort after trade is completed.

Great Bronze bridge of the Chasm

This giant bridge, described as Simple sublime by residents of the fortress, protects the inner part of the fortress from chasm creatures and fire imps. It can be raised locking shut.

The nearby bedrooms are for metalsmiths so that they can live closer to the fissure.

Twin Bridges of the River

Also made of bronze, these twin bridges lock either side of the main through-fare closed stopping creatures from entering from the river area. Not terribly effective, but an effective way of keeping dwarves happy as they pass through this area daily.
