Cheesy? Probably. Figured it would help to actually survive a few ambushes. I've only had it in operation for about a season. Submitted by: apparentbliss - 2011-03-05 |

The goblins are either pit-dropped from near the surface, for splattering, or from one level up, for military training. Raising bridge prevents them from running back up to mess with the civilians. Submitted by: apparentbliss - 2011-03-05 |

With the amount of hematite being mined out, I thought that perhaps smashing the excess rock might help cut FPS issues. Submitted by: apparentbliss - 2011-03-05 |

Via the wiki, http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/Bedroom_design#Living_Pods_.28Residential_Flats.29 . As advertised, these lay out quickly. Some of the walls are mined out due to a strange mood need for uncut gems. Submitted by: apparentbliss - 2011-03-05 |

What better to please dwarves than doors that go nowhere, weapon traps proudly displaying two separate artifact picks, and an artifact ashen statue? Submitted by: apparentbliss - 2011-03-05 |

... and not a glob available to my Soap-Maker's. Not sure if it's a tallow issue, a lye issue, or both. Submitted by: apparentbliss - 2011-03-05 |

While my swordsdwarves contingent, led by a proficient swordsdwarf immigrant, managed to train themselves into general excellence, my axedwarves have thus far failed to do so (this over the course of a couple of years). They are fond of practicing dodging, but apparently they aren't dodging axes. Submitted by: apparentbliss - 2011-03-05 |

The numerous veins of hematite have led to many, many, many iron bars. A lack of mineral coal means all steel production has been limited by charcoal production, but all in all, this embark has a nice mix of minerals -- shallow copper, deep iron ore with patches of aluminum, flux, clay, sand. Additionally, the lava is reasonably close to the surface (only about 40 layers down). Submitted by: apparentbliss - 2011-03-05 |

: Well, I suppose there are worse places to be stuck. The other 6 dwarves don't seem to think so, however, as they try to lift the wagon so that we can get what remains of the wheel out from underneath of it. Night is quickly falling, however, so we must make provisions to camp here. We set up a very basic lean-to, using the cart as one of our walls. it's not much for protection, and I detest sleeping aboveground, but it'll do for the night. In the morning we'll fix the wagon wheel. Submitted by: apparentbliss - 2012-04-26 |

The Great Southern Battle site The place where many dwarves met their end against the goblins, notably K'endro and Shaina. But also several others who suffered wounds and perished later or mental trauma that led to suicide. Also where the battle against the first forgotten beast took place.
