What better to please dwarves than doors that go nowhere, weapon traps proudly displaying two separate artifact picks, and an artifact ashen statue? Submitted by: apparentbliss - 2011-03-05 |

Via the wiki, http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/Bedroom_design#Living_Pods_.28Residential_Flats.29 . As advertised, these lay out quickly. Some of the walls are mined out due to a strange mood need for uncut gems. Submitted by: apparentbliss - 2011-03-05 |

With the amount of hematite being mined out, I thought that perhaps smashing the excess rock might help cut FPS issues. Submitted by: apparentbliss - 2011-03-05 |

The goblins are either pit-dropped from near the surface, for splattering, or from one level up, for military training. Raising bridge prevents them from running back up to mess with the civilians. Submitted by: apparentbliss - 2011-03-05 |

Cheesy? Probably. Figured it would help to actually survive a few ambushes. I've only had it in operation for about a season. Submitted by: apparentbliss - 2011-03-05 |

I've started a mass-butchering campaign; hopefully it thins out the herd sufficiently to cut FPS. Submitted by: apparentbliss - 2011-03-05 |

There's a lot more wood in .31 than in 40d. Carpentry is now a nearly full-time position in my embark crews. Submitted by: apparentbliss - 2010-04-10 |

I'm still working on my magmaworks plumbing designs, changing it pretty much every fort. I like this one because the "base" of it is a standard 11x11 square. The spokes make it easily extensible, later, if necessary. Submitted by: apparentbliss - 2010-04-10 |

This embark location is directly adjacent to a goblin tower, and thus falls on the road/tunnel leading out of it. I haven't breached its perimeter yet, to my knowledge, so I have no idea what consequences, if any, that carries. Submitted by: apparentbliss - 2010-04-10 |

Are they the next lambs for the slaughter? Will the unexperienced conscripts and the beleaguered humans fight off the goblin waves? Tune in next time to find out. Submitted by: apparentbliss - 2010-04-10 |

After the first well location turned up dry, I started in on this one. The "safe" pump setup seems to have worked, at least this time. Pump is manually powered to reduce flood risk. Submitted by: apparentbliss - 2010-04-10 |

I built a well here, thinking it would be a reasonably safe drop down to the water in the cavern below. However, the well never activated (for reasons beyond my comprehension), and at some point, something bloodied up the area -- so I decided to just take it out, and seal up the hole. Hospital Empty -- But Not For Long? It's about time to earn your stripes, Urist McSuturer. Submitted by: apparentbliss - 2010-04-10 |

I had marked out a few potential army recruits from the last large wave of immigrants, but I never bothered to actually activate them, or equip them, or generate gear for them, or any of that. As soon as the ambush struck I conscripted them right-quick, but they were all involved in civilian affairs of one stripe or another, and are not well suited to cope. As a result -- precious few of them have survived these initial moments of onslaught. Submitted by: apparentbliss - 2010-04-10 |
