Fortress: Headshoots-succession Vox Nihili

Zombie Troll

Just chillin there on the surface. There are a couple of zombie giant bats floating around, too.

Fortress: Castledales Starver

Zombie Reindeer

I get a lot of these. And zombie elk and zombie whatever-other-creatures-'graze'-this-desolate-landscape.

But I'm fair, and usually allow them to wander through my fort (along the designated walkways). Until they scare too many people (who needn't be), and by then I've got one or other of the military units mustered, or dragged away from training and raring to have a go at the real stuff. "Cillit Bolt: Twang! And The Zombie Is Gone!"

This is where the zombie muskoxen first came in.

Fortress: Lunggates Yegg

Zombie goats

Already there are zombies... this outpost will have to be careful!

Submitted by: Yegg - 2008-10-13

Fortress: Frozenashes Mogul

Zombie Defense Bunker

This is where the wagon stood. It was immediately walled off to prevent death via zombie reindeer. Then it was roofed to prevent death via zombie giant eagles.

Fortress: Talltower the Tall Tower of Ice crash2455

Zombie Chasm

When there's no more room in hell, the dead will roam the earth (and give us bones for bolts).

Fortress: Clear Construct 1056 Spring Markavian

Zombie Black Bear

Zombie black bear takes a paddle. Zombies don't mind the water, and it keeps their rotting flesh clean and free of disease.

While zombie black bears are in the area, Clear construct attempts to maintain a "Closed Door" policy, leaving traders and such like to fend for themselves. Which ever way you look at it, the traders were stupid enough to try and trade here and deserve what they get.

Fortress: Snarledglazed Tharis

Zolak Ngomorar

While the siege had officially ended, this goblin was, for some reason, trying to beat the crap out of a yak.

As you can see by the yak teeth scattered around, he won. And then the militia got him.

Fortress: Sn-nsmata Iituem

Zokunasmel

Ast Scrapedposts, ruler of The Stern Tower, sits at the highest point of this Mountainhome (which is not admittedly that high, given the dwarven propensity to dig rather than build) and glares out at the world at large for hours at a time. He assures his people that this sole action keeps the enemy at bay, and anyone who objects must face his legendarily fierce stare.

Fortress: Fountaincloisters heXad

Zoden Uthatumid

Several of the initial embark party died by alligators soon after arriving here. This venerable structure, made of wood, once housed a carpenter's shop and several beds.

Fortress: Riftbreaker the Adventure of Doom Aryn

Zinc Vein

This vein of Sphalerite is responsible for the metric boatloads of zinc currently being used for furniture. It's rather useless for much else, as it can't be made into weapons or armor. All the zinc has already been hauled up to the smelter for furniture making.

Fortress: Steelfields 1054 Zhentar

Zhentar's bedroom

Zhentar's bedroom protects the now ex-ruler from would be assassins and elephants. Two Elephant calves born in captivity guard the entry way. This reduces their bloodlust for dwarven flesh. This makes them lesser guards but safer to handle.

Fortress: Blockaderhyming Phlamethrower

Zero water pressure in the ocean?

Here's a bit of the base of the magma mould that I had to channel out to remove obsidian that had formed underneath the mould. The strange thing is that even though this layer is below sea level, none of the water has risen up through the hole.
