Workshops

Iden Orangerag, hard at work. She's been working very hard lately, being a combined carpenter, wood/stone craftsdorf, mechanic, and gem cutter. It's a good thing she likes her work, as she doesn't handle stress well.

Iton Towerconjured

This one has quite the attitude. An antisocial miner who likes to start fights. Not even a year and she's picked up two grudges.

[as the game has advanced a bit, I might be picking the wrong miner. If so, this must be the more even-tempered Kadol Steelrained, who has been frustrated by the lack of things to sit on]

Animal Processing

I feel a little bad for having the butcher shop in clear view of the pasture, but the camel hasn't made a run for it, even after his former partner the water buffalo has been processed for parts.

War Dog

The grey dog with brownish ears and tail, sitting atop a pile of rhyolite. He dreams of killing and eating a kangaroo. He growls softly in his sleep.

Catten Lulledpaint

That's Catten Lulledpaint

So, here I am, in the new fortress. It's been a long journey. I started out with the Road of Lashing and that...well, it didn't go well, but I survived, obviously. I hopped onto the New Avalanche, where I met my wife, Ezum Helmssqueezed, maker of cheese...

Why are you chuckling? Ah well, where was I...

So she and I, you know, and we had six children: Asmel, Udil, Udil Onul, Olin, Fath, and Athel. ANd life was good, but we had reports that a volcano had been found. "A volcano!" I thought. My imagination was captured. It took some persuading, but my wife eventually went along. We left our children in the care of our parents (and their older siblings) and struck out for this new fort.

Having arrived, I was a little...how shall I put it...disturbed by the way the kangaroos hop. I never liked animals, but these are just too weird for me. So I got in, and the trade depot was rather nice, matching its surrounding wall most elegantly. And I had a most wonderful conversation with Lor Gorgeddrink over a barrel of dwarven rum.

Lots of clay

But no sand as far as I can see. Le sigh.

Now I know what my weapons and armor shall be made of.

Hey, it beats copper!

Nice spot for a diving board, no?

Though I fear it's not quite high enough to make a convenient garbage dump...

Oh wait, I could just drain the volcano out from a lower spot. That could be quite dwarfy.

Magma Control

It's here. So now if I want to open up another channel, I don't have to endanger the pressure under this one.

Someone likely died here

The farmer, Rakust Astheriton, went missing as this was being filled. Another dorf was heard banging on the ceiling, and thankfully was dug out before the magma reached him. He ran out too fast for anyone to get a name, but some say he looked like a woodcutter.
