NOTE: I forgot to turn off the movie once the dragon died. The last half of the movie is just me setting burning items to "forbid"...
Dragon shows up, and I take a look at my military: 2 novice marksdwarves and a few wardogs.
I station the squad of marksdwarves inside my main entrance, and close off all but one entrance door. I hurriedly order some mechanisms made to be able to set up a cage trap right inside the one unlocked door. I just before I start the recording, I realize that i accidentally ordered the doors removed, not locked...
This is where the movie starts:
Dragon reaches entrance, and fries my depot. I realize that one marksdwarf is in the depot to eat, which makes me realize that the sqaud-status is set to off duty..
Having made two errors (doors removed and tiny only-hope squad scattered), I draw the conclusion that this is the end. I need to reclaim my fortress soon, but will enjoy watching the fall of this game first. Wow, that fire-breath looks awesome!
But HEY! The dragon... died?? How? Did my burning novice marksdwar fire off some lucky (burning?) shots before he died? Did some invisible dog kill off the dragon? Did the depot explode, and blast the dragon to death?
Aftermath: A burning farmer, 1 dead hauler, 1 dead marksdwarf. 1 depot lost (with lots of burning unhauled meats and cheese)

Anyways.. thus ends my first encounter with a megabeast! Awesome job Toady! -
