View / ReplySubmitted by: phill - 2007-12-08I've been working on a two-layer aquifer for a while, but haven't finished it due to problems in the (greatly expanded) power room. Here's an important tip in that regard: don't mine out the draw channels for the pumps until everything in the power room is built. In larger designs of this sort, the waterwheels have a tendency to start themselves (and thus any screw pumps they're already attached to) making a big bleeding mess as the water immediately starts flooding into build areas at unworkable rates. If you've already dug the channels, flooring them over might work but be sure to dig stairs next to each of the channels before removing them as dwarves like to stand /on/ floors they're removing. |
