Movie: Trapping HFS | Drunken_Gun |
View / ReplySubmitted by: Sigma - 2009-08-18You mean the three tiles that flip back and forth between the cage and demon symbols? Those are captured demons -- Drunken_Gun scrolls over two of them around 5:38, and the third at 5:52. My guess is that those three tiles have empty cage traps underneath instead of loaded ones. |

View / ReplySubmitted by: andrei901 (...) - 2009-08-16You can see that this is not the fully working version, as unlike my fortress, it is not made entirely of one type of stone, and it doesn't have the grid firing pattern as I described on the forum. It is also one z level too short. This test showed that the pressure plate doesn't need to be magma-proof, only the mechanism that holds the hatch. |

View / ReplySubmitted by: andrei901 (gah, I need to fix this) - 2009-08-16I used obsidian for the mechanisms, so everything melted right after use. However, the Goblin was incinerated. At around 30 seconds I'm showing that the pressure plate is set to open the hatch and the lever opens the cage. |

View / ReplySubmitted by: Pkassad - 2009-08-14I think it would be more efficient if you put the pressure plates on your side of the bridges. That way there are alot of orcs on the bridge. |

View / ReplySubmitted by: sk128234 - 2009-08-13So do the goblin corpses actually show up in the ice spaces afterwards, or do they just vanish? I'd love to do something like this and end up with ice goblin statues. |
