Light blue means "nonfunctional but still physically intact" and is used for severe injuries to internal organs.

And this is why it's usually considered a good idea to build a wall around the magma pipe if it's exposed to the surface - if you don't fire imps will crawl out and set the world on fire.

A bit of a blast from the past, but it's probably this bug showing up (the same bug causes water from this rather peculiar brook to vanish into thin air instead of fall down below).

Magma behaved strangely back in the 2D version. There's a few other videos of similar behavior here on DFMA - a search for "waves" turns up at least 2 other results.

Nice of you to include 1:45 worth of the game being paused.

Next time, set your MAX_FPS to 100 instead of 10,000 when you're going to record a movie.

Running with dwarves at [SPEED:0] may actually be reducing your framerate even further, solely from the increased frequency of pathfinding calls.

Sauber: retracting a bridge out from underneath the "freeze zone" wouldn't do anything at all, since the ice would still be attached to the walls.

How many rocks were actually smashed (i.e. by how much did the total in Z-Stocks decrease), and how many still remain?

I assume you've already discovered an underground pool or an underground river, otherwise you won't be getting any sort of growth in that room down there.

You'll also need to clear away all of those rocks down there, since they'll prevent tower-caps from growing to full size.

A simple map snapshot probably would've been more useful, considering this movie doesn't actually show the waterfall in motion.

I used the exact same thing here in Wasprag, one of my previous fortresses.

Be warned, though, that the cave-in will randomly destroy some of the mechanisms (which can be bad if any were Masterwork) and building materials.
