Correction, I guess we did lose a couple dogs. No biggie. Please excuse the wayward cursor, I was actually showing somebody else the game and trying to talk them into starting it up. I was fortunate to actually have the game saved right at the start of the siege so I could show them from the beginning, and convincing him to start playing was extremely easy from there.

So you drain off bits of water, then the water tiles are frozen by the wandering bits of 1/7 magma and then thawed to put them back to 7/7, correct?
You say it's inefficient. What're your plans to make a better one? What kind of flow rates can we expect from an ideal water generator?

Yep, thats how it's supposed to work.

If you want to get the water out, just tap the upper left cistern with a screw pump (remember to heat it first though)

The Generator is currently quite inefficient since there is only a few tiles where it connects to the cistern.

But you can see that it does generate water by turning on the flow amounts. If the left side cisterns have less than 6/7 water, you can slowly see the water level rise.

Ahhhh!
But how do you drain the water from there? Small pockets of water may be created with that method?

Wow, I think I actually heard the screaming of the civilians pouring out of the city as the dragon breathed fire behind them. Keep up the good work.

Water pressure doesn't make its way through diagonal gaps, and you definitely want the water to be pressurized.

Where on earth did you get so many bears...? Last time I tried breeding them my fortress tantrum-spiralled long before I could get an appreciable number.

Temperature-less magma might not BURN you but you can still drown in it :)
