Movie: Fortification/water test Peglegpenguin

It's possible that flowing water is what pushed your dwarf through - the depths were probably 3/2/3, then a bucket was dumped on the left to make it 3/2/4, and the 4 spreading to the left was enough to cause flow and push the dwarf into the fortification.

I just did a brief test in Arena mode, and I was only able to pass through a submerged fortification when it was at depth 7/7 - at depth 6/7, I could not pass through it.

A proper Dwarven Water Reactor only channels 2 of the 3 tiles beneath each water wheel: the center tile and the one next to the pump output tile - channeling out the 3rd tile is what permitted this leak to occur.

Also, are those reactors connected to an infinite water source?

Contaminants use named colors (defined in descriptor_color_standard.txt), and the game converts those to the configured 16 colors based on RGB values; presumably, your colors are different enough that the color BROWN ([RGB:150:75:0]) resolves to color 4:0 (red) rather than 6:0 (brown).

None, of course - I always trade my goods in bins (and don't sell the bins themselves), so I'm immune to export bans.

A glider and a p2 oscillator whose name I do not recall.
For something built in Dwarf Fortress, very impressive.

Unfortunately, this trap is completely worthless in DF2010 because Trolls (and all other creatures with [BUILDINGDESTROYER:2]) will destroy the floor grates and thus block their only path into your fortress.

From the orange warning box at the top of the Upload page:
"Important: Do not upload movies recorded with 0.31.12 non-legacy, because they don't work at all. This error has already been reported in the tracker, bug 2489 - the movie files are corrupt and will display blank when uploaded to the DFMA movie player."

That turned about almost exactly how I expected it would. Wrestlers work great on goblins, but not so great on demons that are hotter than the surface of the sun (which, going by its black-body radiation spectrum, is ~5800K, equivalent to ~20400 degrees Urist, compared to the 25000 of the mighty Spirit of Fire).

Chthon: what went wrong is that you used the SDL version to record the movie, and the SDL version is broken - movie recording only works in the Legacy version right now.

Added bonus: a working movie recorded in version 0.31.12! The trick is that you must use the legacy version - the SDL version alone is responsible for all of the broken movies that have been uploaded.

The myth is that Elves decide to impose lumber limits based on wood in your stockpiles - once you've agreed to a quota, it absolutely limits how much you can cut down.

A bit too much editing? The entire movie is about a third of a second long and consists almost entirely of a jumble of announcement and military management screens.

It's entirely likely he doesn't have a "badass computer" - since he set his MAX_FPS to something ridiculous like 1000, it only reached that speed while paused; once the game unpaused, it dropped to about ~70fps, which could be entirely reasonable.
