OK, I screwed that up somehow. Or maybe the version I'm playing is buggy. Sigh.

You are quite right Retro, I did not notice that before. For the rest of the shafts I channeled out the inner six -before- I designated the outer ring, but it looks like I got caught up in the moment here.

It could have certainly been made more efficient, but I like the look of the square, personally.

I kind of want to point out what a risk of a cave-in you took with a channel designation like that. You really only needed a single line to block the source.

Still, pretty cool - a damming method I'd never considered for a UG river.

I could have made the whole river freeze had I opened up the roof down the entire flow, but I just wanted to stop it up at one point. It only froze at the part that was considered "outdoors".

The river drained out into a bottomless pit, which allowed me to send in the military to slaughter them.

Well, I didn't know you could do that. Did it stop the problem with the crocs? Did the whole river freeze up?

There is no extra 1/7 shifting around. The bucketload of water disappears into the aquifer and only static 7/7 water remains in the channel.
