It would be helpful if you made your window a bit smaller while recording movies. Not everyone has a resolution of 99999999999x9999999999 pixels.

And like Quietust and Harvick mentioned, wooden pumps have a high chance of failing, though I don't know what determines it. If you have magma and sand, though, you might as well make them out of green glass anyway.

Maybe it depends on which parts of the pump are wooden (the blocks, pipe section or corkscrew)

And this is why it's usually considered a good idea to build a wall around the magma pipe if it's exposed to the surface - if you don't fire imps will crawl out and set the world on fire.

There were like 20 unicorns scattered around the map, this "eruption" killed about 9-10 of them...

Haha, that's awesome!

I love how it's just nothing to him, the rest of the fortress has been mutilated by these things but he just shrugs it off, pushing it off of the wall.

Activity at Entrance

A short movie movie test of the new bigger wider DF configured from the init file. The video shows the entrance area around Shieldgears, where a great obsidian lattice bridge has been built across a magma vent.
