If I need something done quick I'll use dwarf foreman and assign that job something. For instance, if I need to quickly build a wall, I assign them all masonry and designate the wall. With 30 dwarves working on a wall, it doesn't take very long, regardless of their skill level. :) |

Mandate THIS. Efficient Noble Disposal.
An efficient method for Noble Disposal, consuming only one mechanism upon its execution and preparable prior to any noble's arrival, and thus available for immediate execution.
Preparation: Place and link a Lever adjacent to a Support. Build a temporary scaffold (Ramp and Wall adjacent or Stair up/down) to permit constructing a two-piece floor over both. Remove the scaffolding and your 'Suicide Booth' is complete.
Usage: Enter the Workshop (P)rofile for the lever (once already linked to the adjacent support) and assign the noble as the only authorized operator. Set the lever to be pulled, and the work-scoffing schmuck will happily drop the roof on his own head.
Advantages: Automatic deconstruction will cause two of the mechanisms (out of three) to be ejected from the device for re-use, as well as the noble's dumpable corpse to leave their demanded burial site available for temporary appeasement of the next victim. -
