This is one of the nicer aboveground forts I've seen. Nice and orderly, but not so much so as to be boring. Pretty gutsy going the wooden fort route on a small map,since it limits your tree supply, although at least you've got magma and sand for infinite glass supplies as an alternate building material.

Not really. You can get into the courtyard through the tunnels under the outer wall, but from there the sealing ramps are the only way to access any other part of the fort (including the tops of the walls).

Amusingly, my latest fort ended up being named Scardagger. Scardagger vs. daggerscar!

If you're optimizing for speed, you should try to limit the horizontal scope of your fortress. Long pathing kills FPS in a hurry. Then again, if you're on a 3x3 map there's not a lot of room for any REALLY long paths unless you're very inefficient with stairway placement.

139. The final goblin invasion had interrupted the autumn caravan so I didn't get any migrants in spring 1057. I was getting about 5 babies a year, though.
