Birch lake is very artificial. I had to build a series of small wall sections to keep it from going into the stream and a large wall section to keep it from going off the map.
Birch lake got the name for the two birch trees that exist in it. I had to clear cut it twice to make sure no trees would grow in it, and sure enough two birch types found a way in.
The lake provides an okay amount of fishing; not great but not bad.
The lake was formed by two sets of pumps, one from Central Engineering (which was taking too long) and one directly from the stream. It turns out that so much water was being pumped out of the stream from that point and shut down central engineering. the stream was full of 2s after that point going east. When the lake filled up, everything went back to normal.
Personally, I prefer the west side of the lake to the east. -
