Marksdwarves in the tower will be picketing them with fire by the time they hit the top of the ramps, and by the time they reach the bottom they should have quite a few missing of their ranks. |

Here is the new location of all my industry. All the materials are within walking distance of each other.
Above is the mineral processing plant along with a glass/wood-burning/sand collection zone +1z above (and I have a crap-ton of charcoal and iron bars, and still a ridiculous amount of wood to still process); I also have the clothing and jeweling industry where the POI is.
With the butcher/tanning not too far away, leatherworking isn't too far a walk (seeing as it's the same stockpile for the thread/cloth anyhow). I think this is a pretty good use of the area I already have.
And just nearby is the trade depot. -
