Wow, looks like it could comfortably house thousands of dwarves. How much time in real life have you spent building this?
Did you really build that all out of blocks instead of raw stone?

Amazing...

@magic dwarf: That is what those bridges were for. This was just a test run to see if the pumps worked, it turns out that magma won't flow off the map (or if it does it is quite slowly).

I am using a combination of mods and tools to achieve this map. I have used the nano fort tool to decrease my embark size to 1x1. And I have also used the civilization forge mod that greatly increases the number civilizations. Some Civs are hostile and others are traders like the silver zelics (cabinets) you see here. As for future updates this is part of a succession game see here. You can join if you want...

Read this wiki page for tips on FPS .

I find that you can get a major increase in FPS if you turn partial print on and G_FPS to about 10 in the ini.txt

Sounds interesting, could I have a link to this succession fort?

Great suggestion. I wish I had thought of that before but now I feel it is too late. I don't really want to deconstruct my gatehouse as it seems like too much work. Maybe ill do it at a later point when I have finished with the main castle area and have time to spare.

What I think you need is a giant underground construction. You already have loads of aboveground buildings and you are running out of stone, so why not dig out a gigantic pit or other elaborate structure to throw your goblins into. Or even better you could dig out an underground cathedral like this one: Ectosack

(for some reason I can't put a link in the comment, I am sure I used to be able to)

Admin Edit: made this into a link for you

I will try to survive with only 6 dwarves. It is a no traps, no locked doors, no drawbridge fortress so my chances are pretty slim.

I will post a region map when the goblins finally kill the remaining dwarves.

What a nice name to call your succession fortress. I hope you have "fun" with those dogs.
