This one was a little difficult, as I've never embarked so close to a volcano before. Initially, it was three bridges across. Naturally, the centre one collapsed into the magma below when the other two were raised. Instead, I dug under the bridges and created a walkway(the pillar is visible on the level below).
The south bridge raises, blocking enemy projectiles. The north bridge is drawn back to allow marksdwarves to fire on anyone dodging the (future) traps. -
