Let's see... Dortens? Check. Dead dwarf outside? Check. Massive circular dining room? Check.

I love this fort. Seriously, I do. Resist the boredom and make something truly epic.

This is seriously epic. I hope there was invasions and forgotten beasts and all sorts of disasters. You can't have gone 39 years without some good fun.

BTW, the dwarf mural made me smile.

Great luck getting both the magma and the lake on the same level. This fortress has more of a sprawling, multiple towns, sort of feel. It's not really a massive single unit. If one of the sections gets completely massacred, you could seal it off and probably make do without it.

BTW, that deep staircase is all splattered with blood. That should at least merit a point of interest with some back story. I'd love to know what happened there.

The new version is cool. No matter where you embark, there's gonna be water and magma.

It's great that you haven't discarded the open air just because there's plenty of cavern to work with. I aslo love how you walled off that big section of cavern over several z-levels. KEEP THOSE BATS OUT!

Nice project.

Although still young, this fortress is already taking on an epic sort of feel. The point of interests make me feel like I could have been looking over your shoulder while all this happened.

P.S. It is sort of interesting how much wealth those clothiers and weavers can churn out.

Perhaps a simple drawbridge with some fortifications would have helped these poor souls. When the goblins show up uninvited, pull up the bridge. You can then create a military out of peasants and train them up by shooting out at the sieging army.

At the very least, you could wait until some merchant guards show up to thin their ranks.

Where did all the rock go? Did it evaporate? That is one very large pyramid, in any case.

Are you certain that this fortress is 40 million dwarf bucks, and not 4 million?

That's quite the glass production you have going there. MOAR WEALTH!!!

Whatever shortages this fortress has, wood is not it.

About your "clothing crusher", there's another way to do that, but it involves a lot more work. You can make your room any size and shape you want. Go ahead and even put the Armor Stand in the center of the room. Then make a million 1x1 bridges to cover the whole floor. (They have to be able to raise, NOT RETRACT!) You also need a lever, and considering how much work the last part entails, make sure you pick a spot for it that you'll be pleased about forever. Then hook up every bridge to the lever. You know the rest. :D

Man, this place is sprawling. The magma plumbing alone is worth a tale or two.

And if you made the castle towers up top all out of blocks (vs stones), you deserve some sort of prize.

I know I shouldn't, but I love your square spiral staircase! It's simple, cool, and I should have thought of it a long time ago.

For a moment, it was slightly disturbing to see all those tombs, and yet no bedrooms. What kind of death hole is this?

Kudos to you for hollowing out that entire south hill. Nice work. Also, nice mural on level 20. :)

With a pit, cave river, and magma pipe, you could do anything here. You are limited only by your imagination.

If you bumped off the ramps on the hill around your stairs, and then made two short walls you would be safe from attackers. One bridge and three mechanisms later and you'd be able to weather any siege.

However, caravan wagons cannot use stairs. Your depot is only available to Dwarven and Human pack mules. And elves, but nobody likes the elves.
