Actually, that's a brook, and the point at which the brook starts; if the map ever thaws, the water will flow out the right side of the map.

FYI, you can channel magma directly under the brook to unfreeze it and get drinking water. But considering the distance, you might not be able to.

Diagonal bedrooms? MADNESS!

But a FYI for the windows and lighting; currently, light only travels strait down. Basically, it's high noon all the time.
However, they do let your dwarves and adventurers see through them (where as constructed glass walls probably wouldn't) so your clerk might be able to spot bad guys from his office.

F ace. Seriously.

The fact that you can use the water on so many levels, thus conserving it, is brilliant.

Yes, I am familiar with mud.exe.

I should clarify - I will clear the tiles using both "mud" and "granite"

My road is going slowly though, so I haven't got around to it yet.

Yeah, still waiting on the trees. The barracks is the only place where I have beds right now, since anyone can use them, instead of personal rooms. And yeah, pretty much any time a dwarf had downtime I had them smoothing things.

I really like that you split your main path into the mountain in two, giving two major traffic routes with farming, food storage and dining in the middle for access from both sides.

I'm gonna steal that idea for my next fortress ;D

Be sure to remove 3 of those chairs from that one table, and give them their own. That way, dwarves dont get unhappy thoughts about sharing table space. Also, the workshops on the right side will annoy the dwarves when they're asleep, as they generate noise. Better to remove and replace them with stockpiles. Finally, the workshop corridor isn't wide enough; there will be serious traffic jams.

However, it's a very good minifort setup, and the hallway that's there will be impossible for goblins to get through if you build a ballista at the end... [evil laughter]
