Demonic Spoon, while I appreciate the enthusiasm, if you're just asking about what something does do so on the board or here in the comments instead of cluttering the PoIs too much. (Also, marking something obvious like the farms isn't exactly necessary either)

"The magma fortress" should of course be "The magma forges

We're going to carve fortifications adjacent to the level edge. Fake chasm, coming right up.

Yeah well, I was a little strapped for time on that one.
Besides, making anything really cool would result in it being immediately vandalized the next turn. *sigh*

This is very impressive. I was designing one myself but you beat me to it. Oh well. I still have a few secret projects underway.

I particularly like the compactness and effortless extension. The color-coding is a nice addition.

During that siege I didn't use the ballista, and instead tried using my K9 unit to crush the invaders. Unfortunately, they had two elite crossbowmen, and I failed to release the restraints quickly enough. Also, they shot up my marksdwarves through the fortifications with ease, killing maybe a third, with a few more dying from the subsequent tantrums and depression. The goblins made it to my ballista before my champions bothered to show up. After that, we had a light shower of goblin parts, followed by beer. And cake.

I approve of your highly old-school entrance.
Some poi's would be nice though.

Wow, that is a pretty vast fortress.
Are those regular or giant cave spiders in the chasm?

Heh, thanks for the comments.
The design is actually from an earlier fort of mine (Hammerlabored to be exact) and the map is one my friend found. We're taking turns playing it.

We're planning on extending the design to reach clear across the gorge. The entire fort so far is build out of granite blocks (Although apparently my friend has mixed some microcline in there.)

There's a link to this from the chasm challenge thread at http://www.bay12games.com/cgi-local/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=14&t=000021&p=

And the farm route has been fixed. At the time I was preoccupied by dragons and tantruming dwarves.
