Water Ne'er Sprung, Nor Drop Of Rain Fell
The wells are dry at present; cleaning out the dead bodies was long overdue, but at last the remains of those early suicides have been laid to rest. Also, the floors of the wells needed to be blocked over to prevent tree growth. Unfortunately, refilling the wells is harder than expected due to the lack of pressure on the level below. - Ambivalence
