Quietust: No, never been reclaimed. I believe the barrel you're referring to was dropped by some wagon or another that was slaughtered by orcs. That happens quite a lot.
Static: Yeah, that's probably a good idea. Possibly some kind of waterfall in there too, we all know how much dwarves love their mist. Mind, the vault wasn't 100% complete when I stopped playing this fort.
I spent... well a little while I guess, not sure exactly of the time. Wasn't really a chore for me, just designate and dig.
And no. Everyone always asks me that, but the dorfs never do :0

The entrance is going to get fully covered soon, but there's been too much madness going on lately to really finish it. Also, I usually build a large tower out of stone blocks on my maps, so expect one of those.

Noble Digger, I don't think anyone's ever fallen down them. Maybe you're thinking of nist akath style stairs where it's more circular and there's a channel in the middle?

I added a poi onto the new map to explain where all the rock goes. Turns out those little dwarf guys can pile up that rock pretty high :0
