Went through this in the "Too Deep" save file. First try failed in the axe room, second try, I went in with tons of friends as a uber swordsdwarf, and got to the magma river only to find the demon had destroyed all but two magma forges. I took all of the addy stuff from one, wore the best of it (masterwork addy rules) and my spearcatchers actually managed to fend off the onslaught in the axe room for a long time. I finally walked into the demon literally when I opened a door to find him. In the chess-set room. One cut leg later, I left the horror to get slain by some human in copper. Three words. This fortress owns.
You mean my fort. That, plus I don't see how a flooder and a ballista have anything to do with each other. Oh yeah, you should start having a dying operation to fit the name.
Actually, Markavian, you were mostly right. Beds can't be made from anything but wood. However, artifacts get to break the rules. I even have an sapphire coffin at the moment.
Guess that's one more reason why I have so many masterwork Obsidian short swords. The second is the afforementioned legendary stone carver. The last is the need for my TRAP HALL OF DOOM!

You have to admit. That goblin had some guts to try stealing a baby from a champion swordmaster. Likely didn't keep them for long though.

Actually, you don't need steel to make magma items anymore. Rock works just as well!
