Boulderpines - 356 Early Winter by Savolainen5

Map Description:

My latest construction fort, in part inspired by Towersoared. Submitted to Reddit's r/dwarffortress, taking suggestions.

Point of Interest: Top of the (to be completed) magma pump stack

Since I only have sphalerite on the map, I'm going to be relying on imports of metal (no iron though, as none of the civilisations nearby seem to have it, even the gobbos) in order to build enough corkscrews. The first priority, though, is the main excavation. - Savolainen5

Δ 55. Entry to (what will be) the main fort
Above this will eventually be either a water- or magma-fall. This spiral will go all the way down to the level of marble (or maybe one above it), 16 (or 15) z-levels down.

Like Towersoared, I'll be putting a glass dome over, though I may end up being more ambitious with clear glass. That'll be fun. - Savolainen5
Δ 55. Front Gate
The only opening in the thick circular wall. The cage traps will be replaced eventually with weapons traps. - Savolainen5
Δ 55. The dead side of the river
18 migrants spent 8 months stranded on this side of the river. Three went berserk, four became melancholy, two died of starvation, two were killed by berserk dwarves, two dodged into the river and drowed when 'attacked' by a rabbit. ( ಠ_ಠ ) The last 5 made it to the fort, but 3 of them died shortly thereafter, and one of the drafted ones went melancholy. Fun times! - Savolainen5
¶ 54. Temporary home
For the past 6 years, this part on the edge of the map has been the home of the now-200 dwarves of Boulderpines. It will eventually be abandoned. Eventually.
