Movie Description:
This is a roughly built prototype OMC designed for the sole purpose of testing the technology. It is not fully operational, and not yet self sufficient, yet it proves that the technology exists.
I used obsidian for the mechanisms, so everything melted right after use. However, the Goblin was incinerated. At around 30 seconds I'm showing that the pressure plate is set to open the hatch and the lever opens the cage.
After the OMC fires, I'm showing the (lack of) goblin remains or goblin.
You can see that this is not the fully working version, as unlike my fortress, it is not made entirely of one type of stone, and it doesn't have the grid firing pattern as I described on the forum. It is also one z level too short. This test showed that the pressure plate doesn't need to be magma-proof, only the mechanism that holds the hatch.
