I was proud of the way this worked out - rope restraints next to the butchery/fishery to hold the animals, doors to contain the miasma and prevent kiddies from witnessing death, easy access to the dining room and kitchen, tanner and leatherworks next door, small custom stockpiles, access to clothes storage in guildhall to east.

Just remember to make the doors pet-impassable, or you get the hilarity of a butcher chasing an escaped horse through the fortress. - Jellyfishgreen
Δ Forgeside Apartments
For Stokers and Metalsmiths, preferably legendary. They also get their own well, dining room, and pub. Keep those magma forges hot, boys! - Jellyfishgreen
Δ Hall of Nobles
Where the celebrities hang out. Lovely pond and statue garden. Piped in river water for western bedroom. NB. I tried to give nobles a row of 3 rooms to cover bedroom/office/dining needs and to help remember where to house their, um, replacements. - Jellyfishgreen

This was the spring we all nearly starved due to too many chasming tasks. Widespread plant gathering by agoraphoric dwarves helped bridge the gap and keep deaths to a minimum. - Jellyfishgreen
