I'm pleased with this. :) Still in the process of ditching all the old wooden bins and barrels.

Things are going quite well, but there was a nasty incident with a Giant Cave Spider in the tunnels down below. - Ambivalence
Δ 31. Webs of Death!
I thought I'd been clever and prepared this tunnel well to resist troglodyte invasions. This is the only direct entrance into this set of caves, and I needed to get out there to mine the precious cobaltite, so I lined the tunnel with traps. Each of them is loaded with giant iron axe blades.

Anyway, I had a baby elephant chained up out the front of the tunnel, for no particular reason. Then a GCS arrived, and started attacking the elephant. It could hardly hurt the elephant, *but* it sprayed its nasty webs at the elephant. One of the webs caught a dwarf. On top of a trap. Splat! Chunked dwarf. Then the other dwarfs ran to clean the trap, while the spider was still throwing its webs. Splat! Splat! Splat! Arms, legs everywhere. I hit the panic alert once I'd got over the horror... :)

The GCS spent the next few months trying to kill the heffalump, and when it eventually succeeded, it ran straight into a working trap and made a nice Splat! of its own, but it was dearly bought. - Ambivalence
