Kinkib - 1070 Mid Autumn by Klokjammer

Map Description:

This is the earliest record of the second expedition to Kinkib. It has been a couple years since reclaiming it from trogolytes and the dreaded Iron man. The main gate is a bit north of the default one.

The main gate has a sophisticated flood defense system, or so I thought until the first invasion. Can you guess how its flawed? Don't worry the problem can be dealt with easily. The northern lever closes the drawbridge and opens the brass door, which exposes a second lever, that lever opens the floodgate near the moat.

After the 'Grand Entrance', is a small tree/shrub farm that used to be the bedrooms and dining hall for the first expedition (you can still see a detailed floor and some walls).

That fortified room across the river was always used as an alternate way to cross the river. I thought about turning it into a defense area, but my marksdwarves were more useful closer to entrance (they also didn't like the seasonly tide). That floodgate used to be a doorway. I should upload the first expedition so you can see the evolution of the rooms more clearly.

The Manager's house is the first area beyond the river, and the sheriff's is at the very end.

Other areas are the dorms, metalworks machine shop, burial cave, kitchen and dining area, the farm, and a large room under construction containing remains of the the Iron man that haunted the burial cave.

The plan down south is for the brand new trade depot, which would be on an island surrounded by water (and hopefully later, lava). The Depot is to be accessible for human carts.
