In mid-summer of 204, the dwarves of Towerweak finished construction of the Hammer Chamber. Certain that this would bring their settlement fame and fortune, they settled in to make enough food and booze for everyone.
( 204 Mid Summer → onwards )
The Hammer Chamber is going to be a massive royal bedroom, dining hall, and throne room -- once the Mountainhome sends somebody noble enough to deserve it. Until then it's a monument to our industrious miners and their bravery around warm stone.
Note the hematite seam that messed up the tip of the anvil. We plan to backfill it with dark stone to avoid making a mess. - Jurph

Suh weet. Dude, your layout rocks.

While at first glance this map appears to be a typical dwarven fortress under a vertical layout, the Hammer Chamber changes that. Oh yes. this place is different. And if you have glass, I advise draining enough of the pipe to install windows into the magma. Nothing says mastery over the rock and magma beneath yer feet like having windows into molten rock for no good reason.

Because that's what most people know of hammers.
Nice fort :)
