• 17. Legendary Dwarf Rooms

  ( 1057 Early Spring to onwards )
  Not rooms that are legendary but rooms for the legendary. These spacious rooms give the most skilled dwarves a place to stash their belongings. - Mister Six

• 17. Noble Well

  ( 1057 Early Spring to onwards )
  Billon blocks, an iron chain, and an electrum bucket top off this well which goes down for two layers before hitting a two-layer deep water reservoir fed by the brook. Microcline statues, engravings, and two iron doors round out the room and let the proles know just how outclassed they are up here. - Mister Six

• 17. The Treasury

  ( 1057 Early Spring to onwards )
  3 floors in use, 4 floors deep, and plenty of space to expand downwards or outwards. Originally a simple place to store the city's money, its walls have now been engraved and the entrance hall is lined with bas relief and statues. Once a suitably decadent door is forged it will be installed between the entrance hallway and the vault itself. I had been thinking black bronze, for color, but adamantium seems perfect: strong, light, rare, expensive. - Mister Six

• 17. Dungeon Master's Burial Chamber

  ( 1054 Late Autumn to onwards )
  An exceptional platinum sarcophagus will hold the DM's earthly remains. She demanded a copper door in her tomb, and the door to the tomb didn't seem to count as "in" it. So the door to the tomb is now iron, and another room with an internal copper door has been added. All these courtesy of the resident legendary blacksmith. - Mister Six

  An adamantine door ensures that the massive stacks of cash in the vault are safe against any would-be heisters. - Mister Six

• Δ 17. Philosopher's Chamber

  ( 1057 Mid Autumn to onwards )
  Since the philosopher doesn't bug me with requests, demands, or mandates, he gets a carefully constructed room with blue walls and floor, and a small pond below his bed to enhance his contemplations of life, the universe, and everything. Two horses (his favorite animal) rest in cages along the north wall, near some thoughtful statues. - Mister Six

• 16. Underground Pool

  ( 1057 Early Spring to onwards )
  First indicated by damp stones found while mining out to one of the fort's first siege groups, an underground pool was found with careful downward mining. It's been sealed behind a locked door for now, but should provide for interesting experiences later. - Mister Six

• 15. Caravan Road

  ( 1057 Early Spring to onwards )
  As soon as I decided to not cut down any more trees, the first thing I did was pave a road so that caravans could get through despite the unrestricted jungle growth. The shallow brook could probably do the job, but there's no guarantee I won't feel the need to carve some channels in that later. - Mister Six

• 16. Cloth, Cloth, Cloth, Cloth

  ( 1054 Late Autumn to onwards )
  Farming of rope reeds and pig tails, plus a couple of elven caravans slaughtered by goblin ambushes means Paddlecombines is swimming in cloth and thread. In addition to the visible unbinned thread and cloth, the two rows of bins at the upper left on this fort level are filled with cloth as well.
  
  After forgetting to have the weaver working on it for the longest time, a loom was built and set to work. The long dormant clothier's shop has been set to build as many bags as possible, for quarry bush and seed use. - Mister Six

• 15. Dining Hall Expansion

  ( 1057 Early Spring to onwards )
  As impressive as it is, the original dining hall just didn't seem big enough for a 120+ dorf fort. Even with the expansion, it's a bit lacking, but I plan to make up for it with sheer excess.
  
  To that end, I've placed a copper and a rose gold statue in its top two statue alcoves, each of which has been encrusted or otherwise decorated with gems. Near the jeweler's shop is a stockpile with a few other metal statues waiting to be decorated. All the statues were forged by my legendary blacksmith. - Mister Six

• 15. Dragon Pen

  ( 1055 Early Autumn to onwards )
  Currently, the captured dragon is still in his cage, but I intend to eventually have him loose in this walled-off section of cliff face. Since he did nuke a few creatures before stepping on a cage trap, I assume he'll try to continue to nuke creatures if let out, despite his tamed status. So the pen will be inaccessible to dwarves on its level, but perhaps I will set up a pit zone above so other, less powerful captured baddies can be dropped in. - Mister Six

• Δ 16. Masterwork Shop

  ( 1057 Mid Autumn to onwards )
  Although the architect's design is nothing particularly special, this wooden shop was masterfully built by an expert carpenter. I was pretty surprised to find a him walking away from the shop after seeing the "has created a masterpiece" message and finding him via the u menu, but a quick check of the r menu (after asking irc how to see building quality) proved that it was in fact the building itself that was masterwork. - Mister Six

• Δ 16. War Dog Miasma
  A dead war dog fills the hallway with miasma. When I first saw a randomly dead war dog, I was slightly concerned there was some hidden killer lurking in the fort, but a review of the log revealed that it simply died of old age. Not long after, a cat did as well. These were probably some of the original animals the founding dwarves brought with them. - Mister Six
• 15. Dungeon Master's Room

  ( 1054 Late Autumn to onwards )
  The Dungeon Master is more than pleased with her rooms despite the minimal amount of items and lack of engravings, as not one but two artifacts have been used: the rock salt coffer "The Vale of Fortune" (value: 4800 dwarfbux), and the bismuth table "The Ancient of Lamenting" (value: 22800 dwarfbux). - Mister Six

• 13. Muddy Ground Chamber

  ( 1057 Early Spring to onwards )
  With rain via a hatch/floodgate two lever system a floor above, this room is where I hope to grow some tower-caps, although as you can see by the still-existent water level I haven't gotten that far. - Mister Six

  Threw herself off the uppermost floor. - Mister Six

• 16. Connecting Bridge

  ( 1053 Mid Spring to onwards )
  A walkway now spans the valley between the two mountains. A drawbridge crosses over the brook; pulling the lever due east fo the bridge causes it to raise east, thwarting any hostiles by both creating a gap and blocking any projectiles with the raised bridge. - Mister Six

• 16. Jail

  ( 1053 Early Winter to onwards )
  The dwarven jail. It had been sitting half-completed for some time. Soon after the first mayor was elected, he mandated the production of fine pewter items, which is impossible given the current known ore veins. An unlucky metalworker receiving what was probably a month's worth of jailtime prompted completion of the jail, as well as the addition of beds and small food and drink stockpiles for maximum comfort, given the circumstances. - Mister Six

• 16. Waterfall Garden

  ( 1053 Early Winter to onwards )
  Since the windmill didn't work, it was deconstructed, and eventually (after a couple of false starts) a solution involving a waterwheel was devised.
  
  Rock salt statues started this garden, but after having a blacksmith get a mood, I've had him pumping out various statues for the fort. Three iron statues and one electrum statue now join the rock salt ones. - Mister Six

• 15. Mayor's Quarters

  ( 1053 Early Winter to onwards )
  Really digging how artifacts are handled now. The mayor gets the artifact zinc throne that gave me a legendary blacksmith: "Wiltglided." Encircled with bands of zinc, bismuth bronze, and sylvite. On the item is an image of a dwarf and dwarves in black bronze. The dwarf is surrounded by the dwarves. On the item is an image of a dwarf and dwarves in sylvite. The dwarf is surrounded by the dwarves.
  
  The rest of his furniture is made of iron, again courtesy of the legendary blacksmith. - Mister Six

• 15. Well Room

  ( 1053 Early Winter to onwards )
  A well, as well as an open water source, are found in this subterranean room. The lever controls a floodgate connecting these two items to the brook, and to the east you can see the waterwheel powering the waterfall garden churning over the tunnel connecting the brook to the water source. - Mister Six

• 14. Invader Defense

  ( 1053 Early Winter to onwards )
  Drawbridges above reroute invaders from the short, easy, trade depot route to the underground trap-filled route. Still relatively sparse on traps, plans are to generously fill this with cage, weapon, and stonefall traps. - Mister Six

• 17. Sacred Grotto

  ( 1052 Late Autumn to onwards )
  I carved out this little cave for some sort of interesting purpose in the future. Maybe a tomb for a war hero, maybe throw some tables in there and declare it the sacrificial altar of whoever my dwarves are worshipping. - Mister Six

• 16. Barracks

  ( 1052 Late Autumn to onwards )
  Small barracks for a small army. Three dwarves have just been recruited from the ranks of the grind-up-via-smoothing squad, and are on their way to start wrestling training. - Mister Six

• 16. South-facing fortifications

  ( 1051 Late Winter to onwards )
  Although Paddlecombines does not have a standing military yet, embattled walkways have been added for marksdwarves to use in the event of invaders emerging from the jungle to the south. - Mister Six

• 15. Craftsdwarf Shop

  Conveniently located near the trade depot for easy hauling. - Mister Six

• 15. Dining Hall

  ( 1052 Late Autumn to onwards )
  Though still sparse on tables, the new dining hall should be an instant favorite among the dwarves of Paddlecombines. All floor tiles as well as the north wall were engraved by the resident legendary engraver, and statues rest in alcoves on the east and west walls. Purely by coincidence, the statues along each wall tend to be of the opposite color. - Mister Six

• 15. Entrance

  ( 1051 Late Winter to onwards )
  Previously the entrance was protected by two stone fall traps outside right next to the doors, and then a column of four cage traps right next to those.
  
  After accidentally caging the liaison, all the traps were removed. To secure the entrance, a drawbridge has been built in front of the door, to be raised in the event of invasion. Additionally, a war dog has been chained outside the door using the cave spider silk rope the dwarves brought with them in their initial stocks. More war dogs will be added once a crop of rope reeds is harvested and turned into ropes. - Mister Six

• 15. Outdoor Facilities

  ( 1051 Late Winter to onwards )
  Wooden fences, opening to the outside, partition off space for kennels and butcher/tanner shops. A separate fenced-off area holds an aboveground farm, with stairs leading to the underground farm. - Mister Six

• 15. Residence Area

  ( 1051 Late Winter to onwards )
  Offices, a communal dining room, and bedrooms (including some one level down) make up the current residential area of Paddlecombines. - Mister Six

• 15. Retaining Wall

  ( 1052 Late Autumn to onwards )
  A yellow wall was built on this level to provide a more agreeable foundation for the wall on the level above. - Mister Six

  Lest I accidentally punch through into the pits without being prepared, I've left myself a note in mining-designated squares. - Mister Six

  The northern plot is for edible crops (currently plump helmets), the southern for product crops (currently dimple cups).
  
  In the corner lies the still, conveniently located near the farms.
  
  Stockpiles nearby hold seeds, brewable plants, and barrels. - Mister Six

• ¶ 7. Graphite Chunk

  ( 1057 Mid Autumn to onwards )
  A single, solitary chunk of graphite was found in this tetrahedrite vein. Despite it being no doubt the largest single piece of graphite any of them have seen or will ever see, no industrious dwarf has yet thought to start up a pencil shop. - Mister Six
