Philosopher's grove

This small underground grove was made when I collapsed some levels on top of underground river to dam it. The slash of water from it watered the levels above it and created some plant life. When I dug my housing I noticed it and decided to leave it as is for my philosopher who can do some intense dwarven thinking in there listening the rush of water echoing from below. I'm thinking of adding a waterfall in there also.

Shopping Mall

Shopping mall for my dwarves. They are made of green glass (like a lot of places in my fort). I'm still wondering what kind of figure to build on the floor. I'm currently thinking some kind of celtic line thingy.

Windfarm and Green glass pyramid

This is on top of my fortress. All those windmills are powering my mist generator some levels downwards and barely produce enough power for it. In the middle is my mayan type green glass pyramid (although I didn't add all those levels to this map as they are pretty obsolete). It serves currently as my animal stockpile until I build a zoo for hundreds of animals in there.

The Boneyard

This is actually an underground pool. I punctured a hole under it and all the water flowed into my Water dragon below filling it. It wasn't actually planned but I knew I had it somewhere in the map and noticed one wet wall and some exploratory mining and hey presto a filled water dragon! Now serves as my bone storage.

Halls of dining

This floor houses my fully engraved legendary dining room with all green glass furniture and a mist generator. In the middle is an artifact statue called Green Tornado (fitting). Food production and stores located next to it.

Halls of growing

These two halls lead to my green houses and other plantations. What better to mark them than pictures of some cherries and pear.

Royal quarters

I was originally going to build a green glass dragon to my Queen's quarters but my girlfriend suggested to make a Fleur de lys so it's being currently done. She rules over my dwarves from her Adamantium throne while gazing into the eerie glowing pit mumbling about denizens of the deep or something. In front of the pit is an artifact green glass chain with Giant Snow Leopard chained to it.

Artificial lake and dam

An artificial lake and a dam that are still in works and currently being filled.

Glass forest

This is half of my finished Glass forest, an invader meat grinder. At the moment it only has 900 menacing green glass spikes and in the end it will have 1750. They are linked to artifact lever called the Comedic Board, a granite mechanism. Comedy will ensue for the dwarves when you pull it repeatedly.

Temple of the Seven

Temple build for the original seven. Masterwork gold statue to represent every one of them around the original wagon. Downstairs are iron sarcofagi for them (plus tons of shoes and socks which they seem to haul there. Weird customs to honor the dead...). Next to it is my green houses and (covered) chasm also.

Metalworks

Metalworks and glass furnaces are build on top of a magma pool which I discovered quite early on and is closer to my fort than the magma pipe. Hundreds of the Fun metal lying around there too in addition of hundreds and hundreds of bars.

Magma dragon

This is my noble level. It's directly below the water dragon level at exactly same spot. This houses my duchess, her consort, hammerer, mayor, tax collector and captain of the guard. On bottom left is my chasm which spawns spider webs and spiders to my duchess' room who loves them for their mysteriousness or something. Her spouse likes ballistas so he has his own ballista in his room. If one day you find the ballista turned and the spouse with a ballista arrow sticking in his chest in his own bed you know why...

Water dragon

This was initial main hall of my fortress around which are most of my non-metal workshops and under them are stockpiles for their materials and products. On top right and top left are my original rooms for ~50 dwarves which are now abandoned and waiting for some new purpose, which possible is food stores.

Trade depot and Housing squares

In the middle is my red realgar trade depot and on the sides are my halls that lead to private rooms of the dwarves. I tried to do some celtic figures for them. The one on the left is more interesting in my opinion.

Fortress: Balanced Wheels squirrelwizard

My one armed Crossbow dwarf.

This is "Besa" Emalrakust Assarberalis.
Ultra Mighty
Agile
Very Tough

At the time my military consisted of three dwarves, two hammer dwarves and one marksdwarf. Besa tried to take on a dragon single handedly, and after emptying her quiver, waded into melee. She managed to survive melee with the dragon until a hammer dwarf (who were busy avoiding work) managed to get out there to deal with it. Alas, in its final death throws the Dragon bit off her lower left arm. Here she is mending, and hopefully she'll be able to return to active duty soon.
