Fortress: Tombsquashed Phoenixian

Botched attempt

In an attempt to pressurize the magma vent, I once placed a single screw pump here. I failed to realize that screw pump pressure does not equal fluid pressure.

Temporary housing

Initialy these were going to be temporary housing units..

To this date i have not bothered to finish them. A dorm works just as fine (for about 90 dwarves !)

Creative constructing

I tried to speed up construction of the mold by first creating a frame from rectractable bridges and tall pilars.. It certainly saves materials, but saving time... Not so sure about that.

Fortress: Tombsquashed Phoenixian

Trader's courtyard

Two bridges, one of platinum, one of aluminum, cross an expanded pool studded with islets and steel statues.

The southern road is made of gold bars. The statues that line it are random stone.

The northern road is used by pack animals. As the preferred elf entrance, it is, naturally, made of wood.

Magmagate

The fortress's first great project, magmagate was originally an overbuilt channel for the fortresses magma workshops and for some years after merely a decorative piece built into the mountain. It was not until the year 209 that the lower chambers were completed and the tank was connected. (though at the loss of two miners to magmafalls)

Currently, the tank is empty so that the drainage pipeline can be attached.
